The Pittsburgh Predators are proud to announce our TRYOUTS for the 2024-2025 season. The tryouts are separated by birth year for all levels (AAA, AA, A). All tryouts will take place at Ice Castle.

10U-12U and 16U-18U levels

Players will be separated into two teams and be given a jersey at the first day of tryouts. Players will be notified of their team placement once rosters are finalized via email and will have 24 hours to commit to their spot.

13U-14U levels

Players will be separated into two groups prior to the first day of tryouts. Players will receive an email with their group & times to report for the first day of tryouts. After the 1st and/or 2nd tryout date, new groups will be listed on website with new groups for the 2nd and/or 3rd tryout. Players will be notified of their team placement once rosters are finalized via email and will have 24 hours to commit to their spot.

Our AAA program prides itself on the development of all players for the next level of their hockey careers and in life. The Predators are proud of the culture built at Ice Castle and the unwavering commitment by our staff to make sure players and families have every resource necessary to develop as a hockey player. The alumni list includes players who have played at all of the highest levels of hockey – NHL, AHL, ECHL, Europe, NCAA, OHL, USHL, NAHL, BCHL, OJHL, NCDC, etc.

In addition to an aggressive independent AAA schedule in the US and Canada, the following teams will participate in the Tier One Hockey Federation (THF) during the 2024-25 season: 2013 AAA, 2012 AAA, 2011 AAA, 2010 AAA, 2009 AAA, 16U AAA, 18UAAA. All teams participating in the THF will participate in a partial season of 12 games plus playoffs.

Our squirt birth year teams - 2014 birth year team (Ethier) and 2015 birth year team (Zeiler) will play in PAHL in addition to an independent AAA/AA schedule at the respective birth years. These teams (2014 BY & 2015 BY) will not play in the Tier One Hockey Federation in the 2024-25 season.

AAA Program Highlights:

-Game schedule necessary for development and exposure to the next level.

-2-4 practices per week

-Weekly off-ice training and video coaching sessions

-Each player will have a Hudl/Instat membership with access to game clips and statistics

-Prestigious alumni list including NHL, AHL, ECHL, Europe, USHL, NAHL, BCHL, OJHL, NCAA, ACHA

Tryout jersey will be provided to be worn at all tryouts. New Predators must bring a copy of player's birth certificate. 8U/ADM and Girls fees are $100. All other levels are $155 until two weeks before each level's first tryout date. After that date, the fee will be $180. Tryout fees are non-refundable and do not apply to season fees. Goalies should attend all tryouts at their age level.
